SIMION Model Exchange (SIME)

Description: SIMION Model Exchange (SIME) is a repository of SIMION models and source files (e.g GEM/PA/PRG/SL/IOB/STL/CAD) freely contributed by users or made commercially available. In this light, SIME's purpose is similar in nature to that of Perl's CPAN or 3D CAD Browser.com. SIME is currently quite new, and not many files are yet listed (but contributions are most welcome).

Contributions: Do you have any SIMION model or source files you'd like to share with other users? If so, please e-mail files or URLs for posting after first viewing the below legal terms. Associated descriptive information about the files is desirable (i.e. what is it? who made it? what does it do? what are its limitations? etc.). Appropriate credit will be provided, so please indicate any contact information you wish to have listed as well. Contact Us.

Local Files (Public/Free)

The following files are publicly available and can be downloaded from SIMION.com. Contributions are most welcome.

Proof-of-concept source/quadrupole/detector (STL) - sis_source.stl - by Scientific Instrument Services, Inc. 2004. Filament, source, lenses, quad, and detector. This was used to demonstrate the CAD import feature of the SL Toolkit (article) and by itself is not intended as an good example of quad design, but some may find it of interest.
Helix/Spring electrode (PA) - swirl.pa#.zip - by Scientific Instrument Services, Inc. 2003. Single helix electrode generated using SL Libraries as described.

Remote Files (Public/Free)

The following files are publicly available and can be downloaded from remote sites. Links cannot be guaranteed to always work.

Simple lens systems illustrating deflection (IOB) - Electron Optics - Summer 2001 session, Portland State University - has description and homework problems.
Icosidodecahedron-like cage (GEM) - Mr. Fusion

Remote Files (Commercial/Non-Free)

The following files can be obtained commercially from remote sites (often for a fee).

Colutron lens systems (GEM) - Colutron SIMION 3D Geometry Files - Model 200-B Lens System (includes extraction of ions from Model 100-Q ion source), Model 300 Velocity Filter, Model 600/600-B Velocity Filters, Model 900, 90-Degree Quadrupole Ion Deflector, Model 400 Decelerator
